Flexible payment options

Fortnightly reducing repayment scheme
With this scheme, repayment occurs every 14 days. The principal payment is fixed throughout the loan tenure and interest reduces daily. As repayment is more frequent, you will be able to finish paying your loan sooner as well as save on interest payment.

Monthly reducing repayment scheme
With this scheme, the monthly principal payment is fixed throughout the repayment period but the monthly interest reduces every month as interest is calculated daily based on the principal outstanding balance.

Straight line repayment scheme
The monthly repayment (principal + interest) for this scheme is fixed throughout the loan tenure while the principal and interest payments vary each month as the principal outstanding balance reduces.

Eligibility

    To qualify for our home loan, you must:

  • Be a resident of Brunei Darussalam or a Permanent Resident

  • Minimum 21 years of age2

  • Earn a total gross monthly income of over BND1,500

  • Have your salary credited to an HSBC account

Documents Required for 24-hour Approval

  • Brunei Identification card or passport

  • Latest Salary slip (last 3 months for non-HSBC customers)

  • 6 months Bank Statements (for non-HSBC customers only)

  • Details of Property

Fees & charges

  • One-time application fee : BND500

  • Property valuation fee (depending on the property value)

  • Legal fee ( depending on the property charge amount and complexity of your home loan)

  • One-time Mortgage Reducing Time Assurance (MRTA) insurance premium

  • Stamp duties (depending on the property value)

  • Fire Insurance (0.1% of the property value)

2 Loans must be terminated prior to 65 years of age for Brunei Government, Quasi-Government and Brunei Shell employees who receive monthly pension. For others, loans must be terminated prior to 55 years of age.
