Eligible Cardholders may apply to transfer outstanding balances as shown in the latest corresponding account statement(s) ("Outstanding Balances") from principal card account(s) relating to any other credit card(s) held by them except a HSBC credit card to any HSBC credit card account held in their name ("HSBC Card Account") subject to the Terms and Conditions herein.
The minimum amount of Outstanding Balances to be transferred and approved is BND500.00.
HSBC reserves the right to reject an application for a Balance Transfer in its entirety and/or approve only part of an applied balance transfer amount at its absolute discretion and without assigning any reason or under certain circumstances which include, but are not limited to, the following : -
(a) if the Outstanding Balances on HSBC credit card is equal or more than 80% of the credit limit at the time of Balance Transfer application.
(b) if the Outstanding Balances to be transferred do not meet the minimum prescribed transfer amount of BND500.00;
(c) if the Eligible Cardholder's HSBC Card Account has insufficient credit balance;
(d) circumstances beyond HSBC's control;
(e) where the balance transfer cannot be effected due to security reasons;
(f) the accounts of the other banks' credit/charge card are not current or not in good standing. HSBC shall not be liable to the Eligible Cardholders if it defers or fails to effect the balance transfer pursuant to this clause.
Where the Eligible Cardholder's application is successful, payment will be made by the Bank to the Other Card Account(s) within 10 business days from the date of approval of the Eligible Cardholder's application.
Such payments will be effected in any manner the Bank deems appropriate including, but not limited to, payments made by way of cheques. Where payments are made by way of cheques, Cardholders are not allowed to collect the said
Cheque(s).
Upon the successful transfer of the Outstanding Balances to the Eligible Cardholder's HSBC Card Accounts, the preferential finance charge rate shall be imposed on such Outstanding Balances from other bank credit card(s) from the date of transfer.
The Eligible Cardholder shall make the agreed minimum payment percentage of the Outstanding Balance as specified in the card statement and cannot transfer the Outstanding Balances to any other bank or financial institution during the period applicable to the agreed plan respectively ("the Applicable Period").
During the Applicable Period, Eligible Cardholder can only apply for one(1) balance transfer at one time for each credit card account. Any subsequent balance transfer request made on the same card account will not be allowed until the existing Applicable Period ends.
If the Eligible Cardholder settles the amount in full or transfers the Outstanding Balances to any other bank or financial institution during the Applicable Period, HSBC reserves the right to debit the Eligible Cardholder's HSBC Card Account(s) with an administrative fee of BND100 pursuant to this clause.
On the expiry of the special interest rate period applicable to the agreed plan respectively, the normal finance charge of 2.0% per month or 24% per annum will apply.
